Reluctant Elegance is a mosaic portrait inspired by my tuxedo cat, Slippy. While the blue sundress and straw hat lend an air of refinement, Slippy's expression tells a different story—one of patience, tolerance, and perhaps a touch of indignation. Created from hand-cut glass and beadwork, this piece explores the contrast between dignity and whimsy, capturing the quiet personality that cat lovers know so well. Beneath the finery remains a cat entirely unconvinced by the whole affair.
